As promised, here is my personal review of the Teresa Collins Stamp Maker!
I made an address stamp and two stamps from photos, very small (1x1" or so).
I had a lot of "test runs" before I was happy with my results. And the key turned out to be getting my negative artwork to print out in SOLID black ink the light doesn't show through.
Once I found the correct settings on my printer (Epson C88 - a pretty cheap color inkjet printer), I was able to print dark enough for the Stamp Maker to do a really decent job. I was not able to get a dark negative with my HP Laserjet 1020.
I do a lot of graphics work for my website and have created black and white artwork for custom rubber stamps, so I have some experience converting RGB images to line art or scattered black and white artwork (made up of dots instead of lines).
If you don't have familiarity with those techniques, you will want to watch the videos on the Stampmaker website which are very good and will guide you through making negative images of the stamp designs you want.
The final result is very similar to the clear stamps on the market now. They aren't rigid (as I had read), but there is a limitation to the type of detail you may be used to. But for a cute photo stamp, stamp from your artwork or clip art, I am very happy and will definitely be using this machine over and over every time I think of something I want to stamp.
Here are a few examples of my results. Remember, my little girl's funny face is a very small stamp, so I was impressed with the amount of detail I got!
The instructions say to use self adhesive sheets to attach the stamps to your clear acrylic block, but I wanted to cling mount some of them.
So I used EZ Mount Cling Foam. It worked like a charm. I added that product (and Stamp n Stor storage sheets) to the Stamp Maker page on our web site.
(I mounted the Address Stamp on wood. But we don't carry supplies for this)
So I give this do-it-yourself very high marks! I wish it was a little easier to get that rich, solid black negative. I recommend trying to print a small black square on a transparency or other inkjet or laserjet film before you buy. If you can get it dark enough that you can't see your finger behind the black square, and you like fiddling with graphic editors to create black and white images, you are going to have a LOT of fun with this machine!

One of our suppliers is now stocking the new Teresa Collins Stamp Maker and I can't wait to try it!
I started my Web Store in 1997 as primarily an Art Rubber Stamp supplier and it's grown over the years to become much more varied. But I still have a soft spot for creating my own stamps that personalize my artwork.
I haven't played with this new Stamp Maker (from Photocentric) yet, but I have been reading reviews and watching Video Demos all day today. And I am anxious to see if I can replicate some of the great results many users are reporting.
The Stamp Maker uses a "Light Box" to cure then harden Gel Paks into stamps from your images. The resulting stamp is a "Photo Polymer" image that is a little stiffer than the flexible clear acrylic you may be used to. But the detail is remarkable from the stamped images I've been seeing.
I have posted lots of links to reviews and video demos for you to do your own research. And when I receive the first machine, I'm grabbing it for myself and I'll give it a good run-through. Then I'll send another update with my results.
