Tim's Tag of Christmas #6 is now on our website.

Tim has also published two videos with this tag and they give really good instruction. One video shows how to use the Vagabond Machine to Emboss (or Deboss) and info on using the shim that comes with the machine.

The other video is technique on using the Alterations Embossing Folders to Emboss Textures and Ink into surfaces at the same time. And Tim talks about how to use the "Negative" space on his Texture Fades with ink to create the beautiful background on this tag. Seeing how he does it in video REALLY helps conceptualize these ideas and makes them surprisingly easy to do!

We are halfway through the 12 Tags of Christmas! But remember, if you're running short on time, you can use these techniques all year round and in all kinds of art projects!

Tim takes his Facets Embellishments and colorizes them with Alcohol Ink. So you can have these "gems" in any color under the rainbow! The extra step Tim shows is to stamp onto the colorized Facet with Archival Ink then blot off quickly to remove the color and leave a sheer design from whatever stamp image you used. It's a captivating effect and really catches the eye. All the bits of pearls and bling do their part too! This is really versatile stuff and he shows you how to collage it over his die-cut bird. He also gives you a look at how differently Distress and Alcohol Inks react to the tape. The other video is a cute little Tissue Tape flower with one of his Fanciful Button Accoutrements used as the center. The other delightful detail in this tag is creating a dimensional "Mini Postcard) with Seasonal Salvage Stickers. You'll see it attached to the tag above with a Memo Pin. Nona Designs Art Supplies Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas 2010 TAG # 2 Tim's Tag of Christmas #2 is now on our website. This tag features Cut N Dry Felt blank Ink Pads. If you've never used them, they are a wonderful way to create your own custom ink pad for stamps. Cut N Dry comes in Felt or Foam Sheets and measures 8 x 10 inches. The basic technique Tim shows is to stamp your image first in Jet Black Archival Ink and let it dry. Then you have the outline of your stamp ready to ink. Apply whatever colors you want, wherever you want. Then press your stamp back into the pad and it comes away inked in marvelous colors just the way you intended. Tim also gives lots of other instruction on how to make holiday "Tickets" and what to do with those leftover scraps of Cut N Dry!
